Hamish William Brown was born on November 11, 1998, in Aalborg, Denmark. He developed an interest in golf through his father, Marcus, a professional golfer from Perthshire, Scotland, who moved to Denmark in 1985. Brown represented Denmark in numerous amateur competitions, notably at the 2022 Eisenhower Trophy in France, where his team tied for 11th. He also participated in the European Amateur Team Championship four times, securing a victory in the 2021 event held at PGA Catalunya in Spain.
Brown turned professional in mid-2022, promptly joining the Nordic Golf League. During this period, he achieved runner-up finishes in the PGA Championship Landeryd Masters, Esbjerg Open, and the Sydbank Road to Europe Final. These performances led to him finishing 7th in the season rankings, earning him a spot on the Challenge Tour for the 2023 season. His career continued to advance with significant achievements.
In 2024, Brown secured two Challenge Tour wins: the Kaskáda Golf Challenge and the Hainan Open. He also achieved a runner-up position at the Scottish Challenge. These results positioned him 5th in the Challenge Tour rankings, leading to his progression to the European Tour. As a rookie on the 2025 European Tour, he held a share of the 36-hole lead at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. He recorded a season-best tied 8th at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, which elevated his Official World Golf Ranking to 217th. Despite finishing 136th in the season rankings, he successfully secured a category 20 membership for the 2026 season through Q-School.
