Haylie Duff

Haylie Katherine Duff was born on February 19, 1985, in Houston, Texas. Her early career began with dance training, leading to a role in the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company’s production of The Nutcracker Suite by age eight. She transitioned into acting with guest appearances on television films such as “True Women” (1997) and TV series including “Chicago Hope”, “Boston Public”, and “Third Watch”. From late 2002, she gained recognition as Amy Sanders on “Lizzie McGuire”. In 2004, Duff received her first feature film role as Summer Wheatly in “Napoleon Dynamite”, which earned her a Teen Choice Award. She continued with guest appearances on shows like “That’s So Raven” and “Joan of Arcadia”, and lent her voice to the animated film “In Search of Santa”. In 2005, she joined the cast of “7th Heaven” as Sandy Jameson.

In June 2006, Duff expanded her career to Broadway, portraying Amber Von Tussle in “Hairspray” until October 2006. She co-starred with her sister Hilary Duff in “Material Girls” (2006), where she was also credited as a co-producer. Following this, she appeared in various made-for-television and straight-to-DVD films, including “Nightmare” (2007), “My Sexiest Year” (2007), “Legacy” (2008), “Backwoods” (2008), “Love Takes Wing” (2009), “Love Finds a Home” (2009), and “My Nanny’s Secret” (2009). Her acting roles continued between 2008 and 2015 with titles such as “Fear Island” (2009), “Tug” (2010), and “Slightly Single in L.A.” (2013). She also voiced Sweet Cakes in the animated film “Foodfight!” (2012).

Duff ventured into television hosting with “Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods” (2008), a reality show where she was also an executive producer. In 2012, she launched her food blog, “Real Girl’s Kitchen”, which was adapted into a show on the Cooking Channel in 2014. She authored “The Real Girl’s Kitchen” book in 2013 and later introduced a children’s fashion line, Little Moon Society, in 2017.
