Helen K Wint, born Helen Kurup on September 9, 1986, in North London, began her performing career at a young age, starting dance training at three at her local dance school, followed by the North London Dance Studio. She further pursued a full-time, two-year Performing Arts course. Her early stage work included appearances in six professional pantomimes and musicals at the Millfield Theatre, such as ‘The King and I’ and ‘South Pacific’. She also featured in charity performances in London’s West End at venues including Her Majesty’s, Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and the London Palladium. In 2004, Wint gained wider recognition when she was cast as Khush in the BBC One series ‘I Dream’, a 13-episode children’s drama filmed in Spain and produced by 19 Entertainment Ltd.
Following her role in ‘I Dream’, where she also recorded a b-side titled “Take Me As I Am” for the theme song and appeared on the album ‘Welcome to Avalon Heights’, Helen K Wint continued to expand her acting portfolio. In 2006, she appeared in an episode of the BBC soap opera ‘Doctors’, portraying Nimala Dias. Her stage career continued, and in 2007, she played Isis in the musical ‘Daddy Cool’, also serving as an understudy for the lead role, Rose. She is featured on the original London cast soundtrack for ‘Daddy Cool’. Wint has also performed as part of Rose and Steel’s Motown Xtravaganza, showcasing her vocal talents in Motown, Soul, Rock & Roll, Jazz, and Swing genres.
Her career includes other on-screen credits such as ‘Wild Room TV’ for Disney, a pop video for Lydia Canaan, and an educational video alongside Jane Asher. In addition to her acting and singing, she has undertaken modeling work, appearing in advertisements and brochures for clients like Woolworth, Dixons, and Burger King. Helen K Wint is also a managing director of the girl group Goldstone, of which she is an original member, and plays the piano.
