Hetti Bywater, born Harriet Jessica Phoebe Bywater on September 10, 1994, in Sedlescombe, East Sussex, England, commenced her acting career with early roles in British television. She studied performing arts at The Theatre Workshop in Sussex and attended Claverham Community College. Her initial professional appearances in 2011 included guest roles in the medical dramas ‘Casualty’ and ‘Doctors.’ In the same year, she also appeared in the film ‘St George’s Day’ and took on a lead role in ‘Counting Backwords.’ These early experiences provided a foundation for her subsequent work in the industry.
Her most prominent role came in November 2011 when she was cast as Lucy Beale in the BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders,’ taking over the role from Melissa Suffield. She portrayed Lucy Beale from 2012 to 2015, appearing in 261 episodes. During her tenure on ‘EastEnders,’ Bywater was central to a significant storyline, ‘Who Killed Lucy Beale?,’ which culminated in the show’s 30th-anniversary special in 2015. Her final regular appearance was in April 2014, with a return for a flashback episode in February 2015. Following her time on ‘EastEnders,’ Bywater continued to appear in television productions, including an episode of ‘Death in Paradise’ in 2015 and two episodes of the Sky One drama ‘Delicious’ between 2016 and 2017.
