Izzy Scane is a decorated American lacrosse player, known for her record-breaking scoring achievements and leadership on the field. After earning a gold medal with the U19 World Lacrosse Championships Team in 2019, Izzy Scane went on to redefine collegiate lacrosse with her record-breaking scoring achievements and leadership. During her high school career at Cranbrook Kingswood, Scane captained the varsity team to two state championships, established a state record for career points, and earned two-time All-American recognition, alongside three All-State honors and All-Conference recognition. Scane began her collegiate journey at Northwestern University in 2019, transitioning to attack after seven games during her freshman season.
She quickly made an impact, finishing with 62 goals and 80 points, earning the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year award. In 2021, as a junior, Scane led the nation with 98 goals, setting a single-season program record for Northwestern. Her exceptional performance earned her recognition as the Big Ten Attacker of the Year and a first-team All-American. Her momentum was temporarily halted when her 2022 season was sidelined due to a significant knee injury, tearing her right ACL, meniscus, and LCL during a scrimmage in November 2021.
Leading the nation with 88 goals and 109 points in 2024, she earned her second consecutive Tewaaraton Award and Honda Sports Award. Her unparalleled impact was further recognized with her second consecutive IWLCA Player of the Year and Big Ten Attacker of the Year awards, IWLCA First Team All-American honors, the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Player of the Year title, and the Big Ten Medal of Honor.
