Born in Dallas, Texas, USA, Jackie Michele Johnson is an acclaimed actress and writer. She pursued her education in film at the University of Texas at Austin after graduating from South Garland High School in 2003. In 2006, Johnson relocated to Los Angeles to begin her career in comedy and acting, eventually joining the Upright Citizens Brigade in 2008. During her time with the Upright Citizens Brigade, she performed improvisational and sketch comedy, often incorporating singing and music into her acts. Her career demonstrates a consistent progression from stage comedy to various roles in television and film, alongside her work in podcasting.
Johnson’s acting career includes notable appearances in significant productions such as Paul Thomas Anderson’s film “Inherent Vice” in 2014, where she played Dr. Threeply’s Assistant #2. She also appeared in the TV series “Drunk History” from 2015 to 2019, portraying characters like Carol and Friend 3 across two episodes. Other television credits include “Fresh Off the Boat” in 2019 as Megan, “Hollywood Darlings” in 2018 as Jackie, “You’re the Worst” in 2017 as Girl, “Good Game” in 2017 as Singing Telegram, and “Angie Tribeca” in 2016 as Reporter #3. Her work also extends to writing, with credits including the TV series “Unfollowers” in 2015 and the short film “Bulimia: The Musical” in 2014, where she served as writer for both projects.
In addition to her acting and writing endeavors, Jackie Michele Johnson is widely recognized for hosting the “Natch Beaut” podcast. Launched in 2017, the podcast became a popular platform for discussions on beauty and skincare, quickly rising to become a top beauty podcast on iTunes. Through “Natch Beaut,” Johnson engages with celebrities and beauty experts, advocating for cruelty-free cosmetics and creating a community for her audience. The podcast was an official selection at South by Southwest in 2018, featuring a live interview. She has also contributed to the makeup department for the TV series “Cleve Dixon: Terrible Detective” in 2012. Married to Ben Sheehan since February 14, 2021, the couple has one child.
