Jake Davis

Jacob Mifflin Davis was born on January 3, 2002, in Rochester, Michigan, USA. At the age of 15 in 2017, Davis moved to Kansas City to join the Sporting Kansas City Academy, where he resided with a host family through the club’s residency program. During his time in the Academy, he played for the U-17 and U-19 squads, making 54 appearances and scoring eight goals as a central midfielder. His professional journey began in 2019 when he made his debut with Sporting Kansas City II on April 6, recording an assist in a match against Bethlehem Steel F.C.

Davis continued his development with Sporting KC II, signing an academy contract again on June 30, 2020. He played in all 15 games after the season restart, starting 14 and providing a game-winning assist on July 29 against Louisville City FC. His consistent performance led to him signing a homegrown player contract with Sporting Kansas City’s Major League Soccer team on August 19, 2021. He debuted for the first team on September 15, 2021, in a 4-0 victory over Minnesota United. Davis significantly contributed to Sporting Kansas City, and in 2024, he was named the team’s MVP after scoring three goals and providing eight assists.

His career progression also includes international recognition. Davis was called up as an alternate player for the United States Under-23 National Team for the 2024 Summer Olympics in France, where he trained with the team for a month. He previously joined the Under-17 National Team for the 19th annual Nike International Friendlies in November 2019. On May 1, 2024, Davis signed a three-year contract extension with Sporting Kansas City, with a fourth-year option, solidifying his role with the team.
