Ryan Brett Atkinson was born on May 10, 1993, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended college in Cincinnati before embarking on a professional baseball career as a right-handed pitcher. His minor league career spanned from 2016 to 2019, primarily within the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. Over 106 Minor League Baseball (MiLB) games, including 53 starts, Atkinson accumulated a record of 19 wins and 27 losses. He maintained a 4.38 ERA across 341.1 innings pitched, striking out 400 batters with a WHIP of 1.37.
Atkinson’s career trajectory included assignments with multiple teams at various levels within the minor league system. In 2016, he played for both AZL D-backs and Missoula Osprey. The following year, 2017, marked a significant period of progression as he played for three different teams: Kane County Cougars (A Full), Visalia Rawhide (A Advanced), and Jackson Generals (AA). He was invited to spring training by the Arizona Diamondbacks in both 2018 and 2019, demonstrating recognition of his potential within the organization. By 2019, he reached the AAA level with the Reno Aces, in addition to playing for the AZL D-backs and Jackson Generals.
Following his minor league career, Atkinson founded and now operates Performance House Gym in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, he applies his experience as a professional athlete to train other athletes, including collegiate golfers, tennis players, and some MLB players, focusing on performance enhancement.
