Ice hockey sensation Jake Guentzel has already proven to be an elite goal scorer in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Drafted by the Penguins in the 2013 NHL Draft, his most impressive assets are his hockey sense and shot accuracy, and he has produced at an elite level for the team since his NHL debut in 2016. The 2021/22 season was a career year for the left winger and he is already projected to have a massive improvement in finishing at even strength this current season.
Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, the hockey phenomenon grew up in Woodbury Minnesota and played varsity hockey at the Hill-Murray School for two years before committing to the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In his freshman year he was a finalist for NCHC Rookie of the Year and named to the NCHC All-Conference Rookie Team and the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team.
The 2013 third-round draft pick for the Penguins scored 341 points in 375 regular season games through the first six seasons of his career. In 2022 he was selected to the NHL All-Star Game via fan vote as the Metropolitan Division’s ‘Last Men In’ winner, after previously missing out on his first All-Star selection due to injury. Already one of the best wingers in the NHL, the talented American could well be heading for another career year in 2022-32.
