Jake Guentzel

Jake Guentzel is a professional ice hockey left winger for the Tampa Bay Lightning, recognized for his scoring ability and contributions to championship teams. After being selected 77th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2013 NHL Draft, Jake Guentzel swiftly embarked on a distinguished professional ice hockey career. Prior to his NHL debut, he played three seasons with the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks, where he was named to the NCHC All-Rookie Team in 2014 and the NCHC Second All-Star Team in 2016. Moving to the American Hockey League (AHL) in March 2016, Guentzel joined the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, leading the team in playoff scoring with 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) in 10 games.

In June 2024, Guentzel made a significant move to the Tampa Bay Lightning, signing a seven-year, $63 million contract, solidifying his long-term presence in the league. Further highlighting his elite status, he was named to the United States roster for the prestigious 4 Nations Face-Off during the 2024-25 season, where he is expected to contribute significantly with his renowned scoring ability, following another projected 40-goal season in 2024-25.
