Jake Stormoen

Jake Stormoen was born on July 20, 1988, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is of Norwegian descent. He graduated from high school in the U.S. and then enrolled at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, Australia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Arts in Creative Media. After working as a waiter for six months, Stormoen moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue an acting career. He made an uncredited film debut in “Step Up 2: The Streets” (2008) and his television debut in an episode of “Lucky Days” (2012).

Stormoen gained significant recognition for his work in fantasy and science fiction genres. In 2014, he secured his first major role as Dagen in “Mythica: A Quest for Heroes.” This led to a recurring role in the “Mythica” film series, appearing in four more installments over the next two years, including “Mythica: The Necromancer” (2015), “Mythica: The Darkspore” (2015), “Mythica: The Godslayer” (2016), and “Mythica: The Iron Crown” (2016). His appreciation for these genres led him to frequently collaborate with Arrowstorm Entertainment, a production company specializing in fantasy. In 2015, he received the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award at the Utah Film Festival for his performance as Airk in “The Christmas Dragon.

His career further progressed with a lead role as Captain Garret Spears in The CW’s fantasy-adventure television series “The Outpost” (2018–2021). Stormoen has also expanded his professional activities beyond acting to include directing and producing. He directed “Mythica: Stormbound” in 2023, the sixth film in the “Mythica” series. Additionally, he is an entrepreneur, owning Unearthed Emporium, a jewelry business, and having co-founded Storm Forged Dice in partnership with Die Hard Dice, which designs DnD dice sets, including “The Mages Guild” line.
