James Yaegashi

James Yaegashi is a versatile actor, director, and writer, known for his work across stage, television, and film, including his role as Robert Minoru in Marvel’s Runaways. After originating a role in the 2003 Tony Award-winning play ‘Take Me Out,’ James Yaegashi established a versatile career as an actor, director, and writer across stage, television, and film. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in literature from Wheaton College and a Master of Fine Arts in acting and directing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City before building his career in New York City. On stage, he originated roles in acclaimed productions including Sarah Ruhl’s ‘The Oldest Boy,’ John Guare’s ‘A Few Stout Individuals,’ and Julia Cho’s ‘Durango.’ Yaegashi also took on distinctive characters in stage adaptations, performing as Yunioshi in Truman Capote’s ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ on Broadway and Toru in Haruki Murakami’s ‘The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle’ at both the Edinburgh International Festival and the Singapore Arts Festival.

Yaegashi has further lent his voice and motion capture talents to video games, notably as Wu Zi Mu in ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ (2004) and Dr. Yi Suchong in ‘BioShock’ (2007). Maintaining a rigorous discipline in his diverse professional endeavors, James Yaegashi holds black belts in both judo and aikido.
