Jamie Jones

Jamie Jones, born on February 14, 1988, in Neath, Wales, embarked on his professional snooker career in 2006. He initially gained recognition at age 14 by becoming the youngest player to achieve a 147 break in competition. His breakthrough on the World Snooker Tour occurred during the 2011/12 season, where he advanced to the last 16 of the 2012 Players Championship. Following this, he reached his first World Championship quarter-final in 2012, defeating Shaun Murphy and Andrew Higginson before a 13-11 loss to Ali Carter. Jones continued to achieve significant milestones, reaching the semi-finals of the 2015 Australian Goldfields Open and the 2017 Paul Hunter Classic. He also compiled his first career maximum break in Fuerth in 2018.

Jones faced a suspension in 2018 following a WPBSA investigation for failing to report a corrupt approach, resulting in a 12-month ban and relegation from the World Snooker Tour. Despite this setback, he successfully regained his professional status in August 2020 by winning Q School Event 2, defeating Michael Georgiou. Since his return, Jones has continued to compete, reaching the semi-finals of the 2020 Scottish Open and making his fourth Crucible appearance at the 2021 World Championship. He maintained his presence on the tour, reaching the quarter-finals of the 2022 Gibraltar Open and competing in various ranking events, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to professional snooker.

Throughout his career, Jones has also achieved success at the amateur level, becoming a two-time Welsh national champion. In 2004, he secured the European Under-19 Championship title by defeating Mark Allen 6-3. These achievements highlight his consistent performance and competitive spirit across different levels of snooker competition.
