Jane Sibbett

Jane Sibbett is an American actress, producer, writer, and director, recognized for her impactful roles in television and film, including trailblazing performances on ‘Friends’ and ‘Herman’s Head.’ After earning a Best Newcomer Soap Opera Digest Award nomination in 1987 for her role as Jane Wilson on NBC’s ‘Santa Barbara’ (1986–1987), Jane Sibbett established a prolific career as an American actress, producer, writer, and director. She continued her television presence as Laurie Parr on ‘The Famous Teddy Z’ (1989–1990) before landing her breakout role as Heddy Newman on Fox’s ‘Herman’s Head’ (1991–1994). Sibbett then achieved significant recognition portraying Carol Willick, Ross’s lesbian ex-wife, on NBC’s iconic sitcom ‘Friends’ (1994–2001), a role that contributed to a groundbreaking moment in network television with its portrayal of a lesbian wedding. Sibbett’s film career also blossomed, starring as Clarice Kensington in the 1995 film ‘It Takes Two’ and in ‘If Not for You’ the same year.

She starred in films such as ‘Jessica Darling’s It List’ (2016), ‘A Wedding Wonderland’ (2017), and ‘A Date by Christmas Eve’ (2019). Her literary contributions were recognized with the Michael D Publishers Award in 2019 for her memoir, ‘About Jane.’ She also starred in the 2021 film ‘List of a Lifetime,’ demonstrating her enduring presence in the entertainment industry.
