Jasmine Kennedie

Jasmine Kennedie, born May 22, 1999, in Binghamton, New York, is an American drag performer. Her early life included time in Morgantown, West Virginia, and attending Maine-Endwell High School in Endwell, New York. Before her drag career, she participated in sports, playing soccer for eight years and engaging in swimming and diving for three years. She later pursued education at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her drag name combines the character Jasmine from Disney’s Aladdin and John F. Kennedy, originally starting her drag career as Jasmine Rikers.

Kennedie’s career gained significant traction with her participation in season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. During her time on the show, she placed eighth overall and was eliminated in the eleventh episode’s LaLaPaRuza lip sync smackdown. The season highlighted her interactions with fellow contestants Maddy Morphosis and Daya Betty. A pivotal moment for Kennedie and her public profile occurred during the filming of Drag Race when she publicly identified as a trans woman, a decision that garnered attention and praise from civil rights organizations, as noted by CNN. She has also appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars as a Lip Sync Assassin in 2023.

After her Drag Race appearance, Kennedie has continued to build her brand and tour globally. Her work includes advocating for transgender visibility and discussing her personal experiences, including her diagnosis with ADHD. She has been recognized with awards, sharing a Critics’ Choice Real TV Award for Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series in 2022 and being a runner-up for the Queerty Awards’ “Closet Door Bustdown” in 2023.
