Jason Mewes is an American actor, comedian, film producer, and podcaster known for his long-standing collaboration with director Kevin Smith. After making his film debut in Kevin Smith’s independent film Clerks in 1994, Jason Mewes went on to establish himself as a distinctive American actor, comedian, film producer, director, and podcaster, renowned for his enduring collaboration with Smith. His breakout role as Jay in Clerks defined a significant public persona and marked the beginning of a multi-decade professional partnership. Mewes quickly followed this success, starring in additional View Askewniverse films including Mallrats in 1995, Chasing Amy in 1997, and Dogma in 1999.
