Jasprit Bumrah has established himself as one of the world’s premier fast bowlers across all formats of cricket, transitioning from a domestic talent to a pivotal figure for the Indian national team and a key player in the Indian Premier League for the Mumbai Indians. After making his Twenty20 (T20) debut for Gujarat in the 2012–13 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Jasprit Bumrah quickly caught the eye of scouts, leading to his pivotal signing with the Mumbai Indians for the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He became a crucial player in the Mumbai Indians’ dominant run, contributing significantly to five IPL title victories in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. Bumrah made his international debut for India in both One Day International (ODI) and T20I formats in January 2016 during the tour of Australia, where he emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the T20 series.

Jasprit Bumrah was a crucial member of the Indian team that clinched the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where he was named Player of the Tournament for his exceptional performance, taking 15 wickets with an average economy of 4.17. In 2024, he achieved 400 international wickets during the first Test match between India and Bangladesh and became the number 1 bowler in the ICC player rankings with an impressive 904 points. Further solidifying his legacy, he became the fastest Indian fast bowler to reach 200 Test wickets in his 44th match. His stellar year culminated in being awarded the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy and the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year in 2024, recognizing his unparalleled dominance in international cricket.
