Jason Michael Cauchi, professionally known as Jax Taylor, was born on July 11, 1979, in Shelby Township, Michigan, USA. He attended Eisenhower High School and Michigan State University before joining the Navy for six months. From 2002 to 2010, Taylor pursued a career as a model, working in Europe and Miami and signing with Ford Models in New York City. During this period, he appeared in several magazines such as Trump Magazine, V Man, GQ Japan, Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, 944 Magazine, Esquire, Instinct, CosmoGirl, and Out. He also participated in campaigns for brands including Target, Macy’s, JCPenney, Old Navy, Nordstrom, Kohl’s, Skechers, Paul Mitchell, AussieBum, 2(x)ist, Taco Bell, and Abercrombie & Fitch. In 2014, Taylor collaborated with Xcalibur Brand for a shoe and sweater collection. He also briefly launched a fitness application.
Taylor’s television career began with uncredited background roles in shows like 2 Broke Girls, The O.C., Arrested Development, Dexter, and Will & Grace. In 2009, he appeared as “Hot Guy 2 in Dance Club” on Desperate Housewives. His prominent role as a series regular on Bravo’s reality television series *Vanderpump Rules* from 2013 to 2020 garnered him widespread recognition. This led to the spin-off series *Vanderpump Rules: Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky* in 2017, where he also served as an executive producer. In 2022, he acted as “Good Ol’ Boy” in the film *Savage Salvation* and as “Guardsman #2” in the TV movie *Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens* in 2016. In 2023, he participated as a contestant on *House of Villains* and made a guest appearance in the eleventh season of *Vanderpump Rules*.
In 2024, Taylor became a main cast member on *The Valley*, a *Vanderpump Rules* spin-off, which was renewed for a second season. In October 2023, he co-opened “Jax’s” sports bar in Studio City, California, with his wife Brittany Cartwright and other business partners. He also co-hosts the podcast *When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany* which launched in 2023.
