Jayden Laverde is an Australian rules footballer known for his role as a key defender and his contributions to the sport over more than a decade. After being recognized as an All-Australian in the AFL Under 18 Championships while representing Vic Metro, Jayden Laverde went on to develop his skills with the Western Jets in the TAC Cup. He was subsequently recruited into the Australian Football League (AFL) as the 20th overall selection in the 2014 national draft by the Essendon Football Club. Laverde made his highly anticipated AFL debut in round 15 of the 2015 AFL season against Melbourne.
He promptly announced his next career move, joining the Greater Western Sydney Giants during the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period in late 2025. This transition ensures his continued presence in the AFL, where he is set to bring his experience and established defensive capabilities to his new team.
