JC Currais is an energetic comedian and actor best known for his main role of “The Gator” on Disney Channel’s Just Roll with It.
When Currais was a student at the University of Florida, he began taking stand-up more seriously. Before he knew it, his performances went from pubs, to whole colleges, to opening for comedic legends and even TV appearances. Currais, so far, has been a featured opening act for the likes of Ralphie May, Pauly Shore, David Allen Greer, Last Comic Standing’s Dan Cummings, as well as Saturday Night Live’s Finesse Mitchell. His edgy jokes and hyper presence earned him an invitation to guest-star on the podcast, The Mangina Dialogues.
After stirring up the local scene, Currais has been interviewed in both The Independent Alligator and Orlando Magazine. Eventually, those feature stories evolved to major networks like BET, FOX, and ABC, and before he knew it, his act was brought to Rooftop Comedy, Laughs, and CONAN, as well as the stages of the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival.
Currais’s acting career happened organically; first, he started writing for Comedy Central’s show, TripTank. After having success, he wrote and starred in his own web-series, Bar Flys, showing off his acting chops. Shortly after, he landed the part in his film debut, New Low, which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. Since, he’s been featured in shorts such as A Fistful of Whiskey, Knights of the Dead, OAF: Our Alien Friend, and Zombie Cops; the TV-mini series, The Apartment; a recurring character in FOX’s Lethal Weapon; as well as full-length films, From the Dead and Mystery Weekend Package.
