Jean-Ricner Bellegarde

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was born on June 27, 1998, in Colombes, France. He began his football journey at the age of six with FC Saint-Michel-sur-Orge. His youth career included stints with Villetaneuse CS (2009–2012), Le Mans (2012–2013), and Lens (2013–2016). Bellegarde’s professional career commenced with Racing Club de Lens in 2016, where he progressed through their B team and senior squad. He made his professional debut with Lens on July 29, 2016, and notably provided an assist in a match against Stade de Reims during his first season. During the 2017–2018 Ligue 2 season, he became a regular starter and even captained the team on multiple occasions under coach Éric Sikora. He scored his first goal against US Quevilly-Rouen Métropole on September 18, 2017. In the 2018–2019 season, he contributed to Lens reaching the Ligue 1 promotion playoffs with crucial goals, including a double against US Orléans.

In 2019, Bellegarde transitioned to Strasbourg, where he made 129 appearances over several seasons. His consistent performance led to a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on September 1, 2023, signing a five-year deal worth £12.8 million. He made his debut for Wolves, scoring his first goal on November 4, 2023, during an away match against Sheffield United. Despite an early red card in his second appearance for Wolves against Luton Town, he has continued to establish himself in the Premier League. Internationally, after representing France at U19, U20, and U21 levels, Bellegarde declared for the Haiti national team. He was named to Haiti’s provisional squad for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup and made his senior international debut for Haiti in August 2025 during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification third round against Honduras.
