Jeffrey Walker

Jeffrey Walker, born on July 10, 1982, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, began his career as an actor at a young age. His early work includes a role in “The Flying Doctors” in 1989 and the film “Proof” in 1991. He gained public recognition with leading roles in Australian television series such as “Round the Twist” (1992) as Bronson Twist, “Ocean Girl” (1994–1997) where he played Brett Bates for 78 episodes, and “Mirror, Mirror” (1995) as Royce Tiegan. Walker also starred in “The Wayne Manifesto” (1996–1997), earning a Young Actor’s Award from the Australian Film Institute, and in “Thunderstone” (1999–2000) as Noah Daniels for 52 episodes. His acting career spanned nearly two decades, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of production from an on-screen perspective.

Transitioning to directing at the age of twenty, Walker has built a diverse portfolio across various genres and international markets, including the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the U.K. His directorial credits include episodes for popular Australian soaps “Neighbours” (2003-2004) and “Home and Away” (2005), as well as children’s series like “H2O: Just Add Water” (2006–2010), directing 38 episodes. He also served as the setup director for the first five episodes of “Dance Academy” and directed eight episodes concurrently. Furthermore, Walker has directed episodes for major American television series such as “Modern Family” (2013–2019), “Bones” (2013–2014), “Young Sheldon,” and “Young Rock” (2021-2022). He directed the feature film “Ali’s Wedding” in 2017 and “The Portable Door” in 2023.

Walker’s work as a director has earned him significant acclaim, including two AACTA Awards: one in 2013 for the telemovie “Jack Irish: Bad Debts” and another in 2019 for Best Television Direction for “Lambs of God.” He received three Australian Directors’ Guild Awards, including for “Angry Boys” in 2012 for Best Direction in a Comedy Series and for “Dance Academy” in 2010 for Best Direction in Children’s Television. His recent projects include directing four episodes of “The Artful Dodger” (2023) and four episodes of “The Clearing” (2023) for Disney+, for which he also served as an executive producer. He is currently involved in upcoming projects such as “Apple Cider Vinegar” (2025) as a director and co-executive producer, and “Fing!” as a director.
