Jesse King

Jesse King was born on July 12, 1992, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He began his lacrosse career early, leading his high school team, Claremont Secondary School, to a BCILL Championship and earning the league’s MVP award. His talent was also recognized internationally when he won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2012 FIL Under 19 Men’s Field World Championship in Finland, where he was also named to the All-World Team.

King continued his athletic and academic career at Ohio State University, playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes men’s lacrosse team. During his collegiate years, he was a two-time USILA All-American and was selected in the first round, sixth overall, by the Rochester Rattlers in the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft. He maintained a notable 36-game point streak (69 goals, 51 assists, 120 points) entering his senior year and currently ranks 17th in Ohio State program history with 131 career points. His professional journey started in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) with the Georgia Swarm, where he was the 3rd overall pick in the 2015 NLL Entry Draft and named to the 2016 NLL All-Rookie Team.

After his time with the Georgia Swarm, King moved to the Calgary Roughnecks, where he currently serves as captain. Throughout his NLL career, he has consistently demonstrated high-scoring capabilities and playmaking ability, with regular season totals including 192 goals and 384 assists for 576 points across 113 games. He also played for the Rochester Rattlers in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and Chrome LC in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), further solidifying his career as a professional lacrosse player.
