Jessica Eye, known as ‘Evil,’ established her formidable presence in mixed martial arts, achieving an undefeated 5-0 amateur record before becoming the inaugural North American Allied Fight Series (NAAFS) amateur women’s champion in December 2009. She made her professional debut with NAAFS in June 2010, securing a victory by TKO. Her early professional career also saw her capture the Ring of Combat (ROC) 130 lbs women’s championship in February 2011. Her rapid ascent was further recognized in 2013 when UFC.com named her among their Top 10 Newcomers of the Year.
Her return to flyweight marked a notable resurgence, including impactful victories over Kalindra Faria, Jessica-Rose Clark, and Katlyn Chookagian. This impressive winning streak propelled her to rise to the #1 spot in the official UFC flyweight rankings in 2018, earning her the MMAJunkie.com Comeback Fighter of the Year award for 2018. This success culminated in a highly anticipated title shot against reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko in June 2019 at UFC 238, showcasing her elite status in the division. Following her championship pursuit, Eye continued to compete against top-tier opponents in the UFC, facing challengers such as Viviane Araújo and Cynthia Calvillo.
She announced her retirement from mixed martial arts in July 2022 after her final UFC bout against Maycee Barber at UFC 276. In April 2025, Eye embarked on a new chapter, signing with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). She made a successful debut in June 2025 at BKFC 76, securing a unanimous decision victory against Mariya Agapova, solidifying her reputation as a versatile and aggressive fighter, a trait UFC president Dana White notably praised for her ‘great takedown defense, terrific hands and she’s got that special something about her. She’s a fighter, man.’
