Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye is the American professional mixed martial artist known as one of the best strikers in the women’s division in the UFC, so labelled by the globally recognised broadcasting channel FoxSports.com. Competing as a flyweight in the UFC, Eye has become recognised for her speed, agility and strong defence against other competitors, and is ranked as eighth in the current UFC women’s flyweight rankings.
First starting to fight in 2008, she was undefeated as an amateur and was crowned the first North American Allied Fight Series Amateur Women’s Champion the following year, before making her professional MMA debut in 2010 and becoming the Ring Of Combat 130lbs Women’s Champion. She signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2013, moving into the bantamweight division and her UFC debut was such an event that it was not only covered by USA Today, but also FoxSports.com. After consistent bouts and highly anticipated fights, Eye took a year’s hiatus in 2016 to improve on her skills and hone her talent, before a triumphant return in 2017 as she announced plans to compete in the new UFC flyweight division, winning her first three bouts as a flyweight competitor, and subsequently being named MMAJunkie.com’s Comeback Fighter of The Year for 2018, and achieving the ranking of #1 in the official UFC Flyweight rankings.
As a result of her dedication to MMA, Eye was considered for the cover of Cosmopolitan as part of a feature on female athletes in 2015, Machine Gun Kelly references her in a re-mixed version of his song Till I Die, and she was featured in Pressure Life, a Cleveland based magazine in 2016. She is currently scheduled to face off against Jennifer Maia in July 2021.
