Jewel Staite

Born on June 2, 1982, in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, Jewel Staite spent her early childhood in Maui, Hawaii. Her career in entertainment began at a young age, initially working as a model before transitioning to acting at six years old. She received an award for best actor for her role in “Meeting Dad,” a short film produced by Vancouver, British Columbia Film School. These early experiences laid the groundwork for her future in the entertainment industry, leading to significant roles in both Canadian and American productions.

Staite’s career progression includes prominent roles in various television series and films. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Kaylee Frye in the science fiction series “Firefly” (2002–2003) and its subsequent film “Serenity” (2005). She further cemented her presence in the science fiction genre by joining “Stargate Atlantis” (2007–2009) as Dr. Jennifer Keller.
