Carlos Valdes

Carlos Valdes was born on April 20, 1989, in Cali, Colombia, and moved to Miami, Florida, at the age of five, and then to Marietta, Georgia, at age twelve. He attended the University of Michigan, where he was involved with the theater group StarKid Productions, co-writing the 2009 musical “Me and My Dick” and playing bass for both that production and “A Very Potter Musical.” After graduating in 2011, Valdes dedicated himself to theater, performing in productions such as “High School Musical” and “The Wedding Singer” early in his career.

From March 2013 to March 2014, Valdes played Andrej in the Broadway musical “Once,” where he showcased his multi-instrumental talents on piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, and percussion. This musical was nominated for a Tony Award. His television career began in 2014 with a role in “Arrow,” which led to his casting as Francisco “Cisco” Ramón, an engineering genius, in the spin-off series “The Flash.” He was a series regular on “The Flash” from 2014 to 2021, and also portrayed alternate universe versions of his character, including Reverb and Echo, and voiced the character in the animated web series “Vixen.” Valdes has also appeared in “Gaslit” in 2022 and the Hulu musical series “Up Here” in 2023.

Beyond acting, Valdes is a songwriter, instrumentalist, and recording artist. In 2015, he released the EP “Night Off” under his music pseudonym, Tha Los. He has carried his musical background into major theater productions, including a recent starring role as Orpheus in the Broadway production of “Hadestown” in 2025. His career demonstrates a consistent progression across various entertainment mediums, from stage to television and music.
