Jill Marie Jones

Jill Marie Jones was born on January 4, 1975, in Dallas, Texas. Prior to her acting career, she built a reputation as a professional dancer and cheerleader. She was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for two years and a Dallas Mavericks Dancer for one year. Her dancing career extended to touring with the United Service Organization (USO) and the United States Department of Defense (DOD), entertaining troops in countries such as Korea, Japan, Israel, and Egypt. She also performed on “Monday Night Football” and “The Miss Texas Pageant.” Jones transitioned from a successful modeling career to acting, eventually moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time.

Jones made her screen debut in 2000 on the Saturday morning series “City Guys.” Later that year, she secured a co-leading role in the UPN comedy series “Girlfriends.” She portrayed Toni Childs-Garrett for six seasons, from 2000 to 2006, a role for which she received nominations for a BET Comedy Award and an NAACP Image Award. Following her departure from “Girlfriends” when her contract concluded, Jones expanded her career into film, taking on lead roles in comedies such as “Universal Remote” and “Redrum” in 2007, and appearing in “The Perfect Holiday” alongside Queen Latifah and Terrence Howard. Her filmography includes a supporting role in “Major Movie Star” with Jessica Simpson in 2007 and a co-starring role in the independent film “Drool” in 2009.

Her career continued with diverse television roles, including the lead in the TBS micro-series “Gillian in Georgia” in 2010. Jones also made an appearance in “American Horror Story” in 2013 and held a recurring role as Cynthia Irving in the Fox supernatural drama “Sleepy Hollow” from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2016, she starred as Amanda Fisher in the Starz horror-comedy series “Ash vs Evil Dead.” She further ventured into producing, serving as an executive producer and starring in the Urban Movie Channel drama series “Monogamy” from 2018 to 2021. In 2019, she reunited with her “Girlfriends” castmates in an episode of “Black-ish.” More recently, she joined the cast of the OWN legal drama “Delilah” in 2021 and has a recurring role in the Showtime drama series “The Chi” starting in 2023.
