Jim Williams

Born on July 27, 1984, in Cardiff, Wales, Jim Williams, also known as “The Quiff,” began his darts career in 2004. He rose through the ranks of the British Darts Organisation (BDO), establishing himself as a significant competitor. His early success included reaching the quarter-finals of the Winmau World Masters in 2012 and numerous finals and semi-finals in various open tournaments across Europe. Williams secured his first ranking event title at the Antwerp Open in 2015, followed by the Turkish Open in the same year. He then went on to win the WDF World Cup Singles in 2015, representing Wales. His consistency and dedication led to notable performances, including winning the BDO World Trophy in 2019 and reaching the BDO World Darts Championship final in 2020.

In 2021, Jim Williams transitioned to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) circuit, following several attempts to secure a Tour Card. He earned his PDC Tour Card by topping the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, marking a significant step in his professional career. This move allowed him to compete in higher-profile PDC events, including the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship. In his first year as a Tour Card holder in 2022, Williams achieved a significant milestone by winning a Players Championship event, defeating Ricky Evans 8-6 in the final and earning £12,000 in ranking money.

Williams has demonstrated consistent performance in PDC World Championships, reaching the Last 32 in both the 2023 and 2024 editions. Notably, in the 2024 tournament, he defeated former world champion Peter Wright with a 3-0 victory in the second round. He also represented Wales at the 2024 PDC World Cup of Darts alongside Jonny Clayton. Williams continues to compete, focusing on his professional darts career while also managing his full-time carpentry business, highlighting his dedication to both his sport and his craft.
