Jiří Přívratský, born in 2001, commenced his journey in competitive shooting in 2012. Hailing from Plzeň, Přívratský quickly established himself as a significant figure in Czech shooting. His early career was marked by consistent performance, culminating in him becoming one of the Czech Republic’s top shooters. Přívratský trains under the guidance of his personal coach, Milan Bakeš, utilizing Walther and Grünig&Elmiger equipment. His dedication and systematic training approach have enabled him to compete at the highest levels, earning recognition within the sport. He is a member of the OLYMP Plzeň club and is registered with the regional association of Plzeň. His disciplines include the 3×20 rounds small-bore rifle and the 60 rounds ISSF air rifle.
Přívratský’s career progression has been distinguished by numerous achievements on the international stage. He has secured three qualification spots for the Olympic Games, a notable accomplishment in his discipline. His performance during the Olympic nomination period included eight final placements in air rifle events and nine in three-position small-bore rifle, where he currently holds a dominant position in the world rankings. Key milestones include three medals from the European Games and a bronze medal from the 2023 World Cup final. Over the past two seasons, he has also achieved nine gold medals across various World Cup events. He is slated to compete in three disciplines at the Paris Olympics: 3×20 men’s sport small-bore rifle, 10m men’s air rifle, and the mixed team air rifle alongside Veronika Blažíčková. His academic pursuits also include studying at the University of West Bohemia’s Law School, demonstrating a commitment to both his athletic and educational development.
A specific highlight of Přívratský’s career occurred at the ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He contributed to the Czech rifle shooters winning five medals, comprising three gold and two silver, in April 2022. This included a gold in the mixed air rifle event with Lucie Brázdová, an individual gold in the three-position competition (prone, standing, kneeling), and a team gold with Petr Nymburský and František Smetana. Additionally, he earned two silver medals: one in the men’s team competition and another in the mixed three-position competition with Lucie Brázdová. His consistent presence on the podium and his status as a dual-Olympian underscore his elite standing in international sports shooting.
