Jodelle Micah Ferland

Jodelle Micah Ferland was born on October 9, 1994, in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Her career in entertainment began early, with appearances in commercials at the age of two. In 1999, she made her acting debut in an episode of CTV’s “Cold Squad.” A significant early milestone arrived in 2000 when she landed the lead role of Desi in the television film “Mermaid.” Her performance garnered a Daytime Emmy Award nomination, making her the youngest nominee in Emmy history, and she also received a Young Artist Award for this role.

Following her early success, Ferland appeared in various films and television series. Notable film roles include “They” (2002), “Trapped” (2001), and “Carrie” (2002). On television, she made guest appearances in popular shows such as “Smallville” (2001), “Dark Angel” (2000), and “The Collector” (2004). In 2004, she was cast in Stephen King’s miniseries “Kingdom Hospital,” portraying a young girl who haunts the hospital. Her career progression further solidified in 2005 when she took on the lead role of Jeliza-Rose in Terry Gilliam’s fantasy film “Tideland,” a role for which she earned a Genie Award nomination for Best Actress. A significant turning point came with her role as Bree Tanner in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” (2010), her highest-grossing film to date. She also lent her voice to the video game “BioShock 2” (2010), and starred as Five in the SyFy series “Dark Matter” from 2015 to 2017, earning a Saturn Award nomination for her performance.
