Joe Keery

Joe Keery gained significant recognition in late 2015 when he was cast in the critically acclaimed Netflix science-fiction horror series Stranger Things, portraying the fan-favorite character Steve Harrington. Prior to this breakthrough, Keery earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University in 2014. His early career included appearances in commercials for brands like KFC and Domino’s, and securing roles in television series such as Chicago Fire (2012) and Empire (2015). He made his feature film debut in Stephen Cone’s independent production, Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party, in 2015.

Transitioning to a solo music career under the moniker Djo, Keery released his debut album, Twenty Twenty, in 2019. His filmography further grew with leading roles in the 2020 film Spree and the highly anticipated Free Guy in 2021, where he played Walter ‘Keys’ McKey. In 2022, he released his second Djo album, Decide, which garnered critical praise. That same year, Keery joined the ensemble cast of the fifth season of the crime comedy-drama series Fargo, portraying Gator Tillman in episodes airing from 2023 to 2024.

Keery’s solo music career saw a significant milestone in 2024 when the track ‘End of Beginning’ from his Decide album achieved widespread viral popularity. Looking ahead, Keery is set to release his third solo album as Djo, The Crux, in 2025. Demonstrating his versatile talents, he will also rejoin Post Animal for the release of their new album, IRON, also anticipated in 2025.
