Blake Jenner

Blake Alexander Jenner was born on August 27, 1992, in Miami, Florida. From a young age, he developed an interest in entertainment, inspired by figures like Jim Carrey and Michael Jackson. At nine, he began writing and acting out short stories in school and decided to pursue a career in acting. Throughout his middle school and high school years, he participated in advertisements, acting classes, and school plays. To expedite his career, Jenner moved to Los Angeles, California, graduating high school early by taking online classes. During this period, he held various jobs, including working as a waiter, clothing-store associate, fast-food attendant, and parrot salesman, while actively auditioning for roles.

Jenner’s career began with roles in short films “Wurlitzer” and “The Truth In Being Right,” and the horror film “Cousin Sarah.” His first television appearance was a guest role as Miller Collins on the ABC Family sitcom “Melissa & Joey.” A significant turning point occurred in 2012 when he won the second season of Oxygen’s reality show, “The Glee Project,” earning him a seven-episode arc on Fox’s hit series “Glee.” He joined the cast in its fourth season as Ryder Lynn, a character who evolved from a star football player to a lead vocalist. For this role, he received the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Breakout Star in 2013 and was promoted to a series regular for the fifth season of “Glee.” He continued to appear in the series until 2015.

Following his success on “Glee,” Jenner expanded his filmography. In 2016, he starred as Jake Bradford in Richard Linklater’s film “Everybody Wants Some!!” and appeared opposite Hailee Steinfeld in “The Edge of Seventeen.” He also had a recurring role as Adam Foster on the television series “Supergirl” in 2016, working alongside his then-wife, Melissa Benoist. In 2017, he co-wrote and produced “Billy Boy,” in which he also starred. His other notable film credits include “The Vanishing of Sidney Hall” (2017) and “American Animals” (2018). In 2019, Jenner played Sean in Netflix’s neo-noir thriller series “What/If.” He has also contributed voice work to video games, specifically “NBA 2K19” (2018) and “NBA 2K20” (2019).
