Welsh midfield maestro – Joe Ledley, is a national hero due to his fantastic performances at EURO 2016, which helped Wales get to the semi-finals. The central midfielder is known for his high fitness levels and true dedication for whatever team he plays in. With Celtic, Ledley won the Scottish Premier League three times and the Scottish Cup once. The icon was also in the PFA Championship Team of the Year and was Wales Club Player of the Year two years in a row.
Ledley started his blossoming career with Championship side Cardiff City, where he spent six fantastic years and established himself as a future Premier League player. He helped his boyhood club to reach the FA Cup Final in 2008 and the Championship play-off final in 2010. Due to his inspirational performances for Cardiff, Ledley moved to Celtic. He then won the Scottish Premier League title in his second season and both the league and the Scottish Cup in his third. Helping his Celtic team to many major trophies turned heads in the Premier League. The star signed for Crystal Palace in 2014 and went on to play three successful Premier League seasons with the club. Due to his reliability at club level, Ledley went on to make over 70 international appearances for Wales and has even captained his country on several occasions, making him a highly recognisable figure in his home country.
Most recently, Ledley has been seen donning the shirt of Newport County, showing that his connection with Welsh football is still incredibly strong.
