As a former Australian rules footballer and popular media personality, Billy Brownless is widely recognized across his home country of Australia. He’s a leader in AFL commentary and has made appearances on several television and radio programs.
Brownless made his VFL debut for Geelong in 1986, quickly making a name for himself as a strong full-forward. He was named to the All-Australian team in 1991 and retired in 1997 after a total of 198 games and 441 goals. Brownless also proudly represented his home state of New South Wales throughout his career. Following his retirement, he soon made a name for himself in the media world. He quickly made regular appearances on The Footy Show and co-hosted segments on 95.5 K-Rock Radio. A respected Australian football commentator, Brownless has appeared on many other shows including The Sunday Footy Show on Nine Network and Before the Bounce on Foxtel. In 2010, he began co-hosting The Rush Hour on Triple M with James Brayshaw, airing on weekdays from 6-7 PM for the last decade. He’s also a staple of Triple M’s weekend AFL coverage.
In 2008, Brownless published his first book, titled Billy’s Book for Blokes. He appeared on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2020, starring in the reality show along with other media personalities. A highly sought after keynote speaker, Brownless has presented at several corporate and sporting events.
