Joe Zimmerman is a widely recognised American stand-up comedian. Zimmerman has appeared on several television shows and has performed tours across the United States at numerous popular venues. Notable television appearances include Conan, The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show, Last Comic Standing and his own Comedy Central Half Hour. Zimmerman’s media career has seen him appear on channels such as Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.
Originally hailing from Morgantown, Zimmerman moved to New York City in 2012 to properly pursue a comedy career and has his work has received rave reviews since. Zimmerman has received positive acclaim from Buzzfeed, commenting that his “calming vocalisation and inventive writing is a thing of magic”. Zimmerman’s profile first rose to recognition while he was living in North Carolina; his stand-up group, Beards of Comedy, secured a record deal with Comedy Central Records. Upon relocating to NYC, Zimmerman’s popularity quickly increased and he featured on many shows, including John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show and Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival. Zimmerman has collaborated and toured with several high-profile comedians, among which he has opened for Brian Regan and Ricky Gervais.
Zimmerman continues to firmly establish himself as a respected comic, his album Smiling at Wolves peaked at No. 2 on the iTunes comedy chart, and he has also worked with The New York Times, writing comedy pieces for them. Zimmerman’s latest venture has seen him launch a podcast titled A Great Listening Experience, which has been met with rave reviews and draws in many listeners. Zimmerman has also appeared on 2 Dope Queens, The Dork Forest, Bob & Tom, The Artie Lange Show and The Todd Barry Podcast.
