Joey Lawrence

Joseph Lawrence Mignogna III, known professionally as Joey Lawrence, was born on April 20, 1976, in Abington Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His career began in early childhood with commercials and a notable appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” in 1982. This early exposure led to his first significant role as Joey Donovan in the sitcom “Gimme a Break!” from 1983 to 1987. His feature film debut was in the comedy “Summer Rental” in 1985, followed by a starring voice role as Oliver in Disney’s animated film “Oliver & Company” in 1988.

Lawrence achieved widespread recognition as Joey Russo in the popular sitcom “Blossom,” which ran from 1990 to 1995. During this period, he also launched a music career, releasing his self-titled debut album in 1993, which included the hit single “Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix.” Following “Blossom,” he co-starred with his real-life brothers, Matthew and Andrew Lawrence, in the sitcom “Brotherly Love” from 1995 to 1997. After a period of diverse roles in films and television, including “Urban Legends: Final Cut” (2000) and a recurring role in “American Dreams” (2002-2003), Lawrence experienced a career resurgence. He appeared on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2006, placing third, and later starred in the highly rated television film “My Fake Fiancé” (2009).

From 2010 to 2015, Lawrence starred as Joe Longo in the successful sitcom “Melissa & Joey,” further solidifying his return to mainstream television. He continued to release music, with albums like “Imagine” (2017) and “Guilty” (2022), and formed the band ‘Still 3’ with his brothers in 2017. More recently, he co-hosts the “Brotherly Love Podcast” with his siblings, revisiting past projects and discussing their careers. Lawrence has consistently demonstrated versatility throughout his extensive career, adapting to various roles in acting, music, and media.
