John Basedow is an American television personality, model, author, motivational speaker and entrepreneur. He has become celebrated for his contributions to the fitness industry. He created a best-selling and hugely successful fitness program called Fitness Made Simple, which comprises a video series and corresponding book (Fitness Made Simple: The Power to Change Your Body, The Power to Change Your Life). For his work in this field he was nominated for the Shorty Award for Social Fitness.
Basedow grew up in New York, and grew up with a passion for acting. He has amassed an array of television and film appearances. His particular aptitude for the horror and thriller genres has been exhibited in his frequent appearances in horror films. These include Purification in 2012, Tales from the Dark and 6 Minutes of Death in 2013. More recently, in 2019, he appeared in the critically acclaimed horror anthology series 6 Tales of Sin. This series, shot in New York, featured him in different roles in each episode, proving that he is a diverse and adaptive performer.
Outside of acting, Basedow is driven by his desire to motivate people and encourage healthy wellbeing. Alongside his fitness series, he regularly uploads motivational videos to social media platforms Instagram and YouTube. These have been featured on Fox’s Good Day New York. He has guest-starred on channels such as Viceland.
