John Ratzenberger has over his illustrious career been an extremely successful actor, screenwriter, director producer and entrepreneur. He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on and went to St Ann’s School in Bridgeport, then Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. He moved to London in 1971 and lived there for 10 years. In the UK he helped form the theatre troupe ‘Sal’s Meat Market’, which was successful touring Europe.
He had a range of TV and film roles in this period.
In 1982 John was given a writing assignment for CBS Los Angeles and moved back to the USA. He was then given the part of Cliff Clavin on the extremely popular comedy show set in Boston, ‘Cheers’. Over the years this successful series ran he received two Primetime Emmy nominations.
He has secured famous roles in many productions, but he is best known for being the only voiceover actor to work on every Pixar Animation Studios feature film. These include among others the successful ‘Toy Story’ Series and ‘Bug’s Life’.
From 2004 to 2008 he was the host of the TV series ‘Made in America’. He has worked voluntarily to promote manufacturing and has done a lot of philanthropic work to support this and other causes he believes in.
