Johnny Whitworth is a film and TV actor from America famous for playing AJ in Empire Records and Blackout in Marvel’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. He also starred as Vernon Gant in Limitless, appeared in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Rainmaker as Donny Ray Black and played Cage Wallace in post-apocalyptic science fiction drama television series The 100. Whitworth is a lifetime member of the elite Actors Studio.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, he launched his acting career at the age of 15 after moving to Los Angeles in 1994 with a guest role on Party of Five. He movie debut came in 1995’s Bye Bye Love, and the same year he had a breakthrough role playing AJ in Empire Records. After quitting acting for several years, he returned in The Rainmaker in 1997, also playing recurring character Detective Jake Berkeley in CSI: Miami. Whitworth co-starred in MTV’s musical version of Wuthering Heights in 2003, and starred in various other film roles through the 2000’s including 3:10 to Yuma, Gamer, Limitless and Locked In.
In 2011 Whitworth joined the Marvel universe playing the villain Blackout in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and three years later joined The CW’s series The 100 playing the recurring character Cage Wallace. At the start of new decade, Whitworth is concentrating on movie roles once again including starring as Dr Robinson in the upcoming film The Adventures of Thomasina Sawyer.
