A star of stage and screen and a graphic novel creator, Dan Feuerriegel is an Australian who has made it big in the United States. He first came to prominence when he was cast as Agron, a gladiator recruit in the major Starz series, Spartacus, appearing in the series Blood and Sand, Vengeance, and War of the Damned. In 2021, he joined the classic, long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives, taking over the central role of EJ DiMera, son of crime boss Stefano DiMera. His big-screen credits include the blockbuster movie Pacific Rim: Uprising and the 2021 children’s film Heidi: Queen of the Mountain.
Feuerriegel was born in Sydney in 1981 and grew up in Brisbane, eventually studying acting at the local university. He graduated in 2002 and initially worked largely in the theatre, appearing in productions such as Rent, The Merchant of Venice, and Pink Floyd’s The Wall. He got his first television and short film roles in 2005 and slowly built his resume. His first recurring role came in 2006 when he played Leo Coombes in the popular Australian drama series McLeod’s Daughters. In 2008, he appeared in several episodes of Home & Away, but it was in 2010, when he was cast as Agron in Spartacus, that he hit the big time.
Spartacus was ambitious American drama series, and Feuerriegel appeared in 25 episodes over three of its four series. The show was well received by critics and nominated for several awards, winning the Saturn Award for Best DVD Series. Since then, Feuerriegel has stayed in America, establishing himself as a starring actor.
