Jon Cor was born on November 17, 1984, in Timmins, Ontario, Canada. He studied theatre arts at Fanshawe College, laying the foundation for his acting career. Cor has developed a reputation for taking on varied roles across different genres since his career began in 2005. Early in his career, he appeared in films such as “American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile” (2006) and “Saw 3D” (2010), where he played the character Ryan.
His television career includes a recurring role as Jake in “Beaver Falls” between 2011 and 2012, and voice work as Brick in “Total Drama: Revenge of the Island” in 2012. He further expanded his profile with significant appearances in “Being Human” as Connor McLean and “Dark Matter” as Vons. A notable turn in his career came with his casting as Hodge Starkweather in “Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments,” a role he held from 2016 to 2017. This period demonstrated his capacity for complex characters within a fantasy series. He also explored writing, publishing the novel “In Heat” in 2004.
More recently, Cor gained wider recognition for his role as Mark Blaine, also known as Chillblaine, in The CW’s “The Flash.” He joined the series in a recurring capacity for seasons seven and eight (2021-2023) and was subsequently promoted to a series regular for the ninth and final season. In addition to his work in action and drama, Cor has appeared in numerous television films, including “Love On Safari” (2018) as Tom Anderson and “Picture a Perfect Christmas” (2019) as David, showcasing his versatility across different styles of programming.
