Jon Kinyon

Jon Kinyon is an Emmy Award-nominated TV editor, filmmaker, music producer, and entrepreneur known for his diverse contributions to film, television, and satirical content. After writing, producing, and directing the acclaimed comedy parody ‘God Squad!’ in 2002, Jon Kinyon demonstrated his multifaceted talent as a filmmaker. Featuring cult actress Julie Strain and actor Al Israel, known for his roles in Scarface, the short film premiered at the Los Angeles Short Film Festival that year and was subsequently screened at Tromadance in 2003 and the Backseat Film Festival. Kinyon continued to expand his creative footprint in 2007 with the release of the full-length CD ‘Are You Homeless?’ by ‘The Jimi Homeless Experience,’ a collection of ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic-styled parodies of Jimi Hendrix’s hits, launched on the 40th anniversary of Hendrix’s ‘Are You Experienced’ and inspired by Kinyon’s web-comic.

This project further evolved with a stop-motion animation in 2008 and a joke book in 2023. His professional career in film and television officially began in 1988. Kinyon’s expertise in post-production led him to Nickelodeon Animation Studio in 2005, where he advanced to the role of Supervising Picture Editor. In recognition of his significant contributions, he received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2020 for Outstanding Editing in an Animated Program for his work on the Netflix/Nickelodeon children’s cartoon ‘Pinky Malinky.’ His extensive television editing credits include major animated series such as ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,’ ‘Dora the Explorer,’ ‘The Fairly OddParents,’ and ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.’ In 2013, Kinyon co-produced ‘Kinyon Bros.
