Jordan De Goey

Jordan De Goey was born on March 15, 1996, in Hornsby, New South Wales, Australia. He began his junior football career with the Ashburton United Junior Football Club, later playing with the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup. During his time with the Oakleigh Chargers, he demonstrated significant talent, especially in the 2014 TAC Cup Grand Final where he kicked three goals, contributing to his team’s premiership victory. De Goey also represented Vic Metro in the 2014 AFL Under 18 Championships, highlighting his early promise in the sport.

His professional career with the Collingwood Football Club began after being selected as the 5th overall pick in the 2014 national draft. He made his AFL debut in Round 1 of the 2015 season against the Brisbane Lions. In his debut season, he earned a Rising Star nomination in Round 20 after a notable performance against Sydney, collecting 18 disposals and 12 tackles. De Goey’s career progressed with various accolades, including being the Collingwood leading goalkicker in 2018 with 48 goals. He was also selected for the 22 Under 22 team by the AFL Players Association in the same year, solidifying his status as a key player.

De Goey played a pivotal role in Collingwood’s 2023 AFL premiership win, delivering standout performances in both the Preliminary Final and the Grand Final. In the 2023 Preliminary Final against the Greater Western Sydney Giants, he recorded 34 disposals and 13 clearances. His contributions have made him a central figure at the club, known for his impact in critical matches. Despite a 2024 season impacted by injury, De Goey is noted for his ability to drive team performance when fully fit, and looks forward to returning to form in 2025.
