Jordan Anthony Poole was born on June 19, 1999, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He developed his basketball skills early, attending Rufus King High School before transferring to La Lumiere School in Indiana for his senior year. During his time at La Lumiere, he was part of the 2017 Dick’s National High School Champion team. He committed to play college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines, where he distinguished himself as a key player. In his freshman season, Poole helped lead Michigan to victory in the 2018 Big Ten tournament and advanced to the national championship game. His sophomore year saw him achieve career highs in points and demonstrate consistent performance, contributing to Michigan’s strong start to the season and another NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. In 2019, Poole declared for the NBA draft.

Poole was drafted 28th overall in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. His initial years involved assignments to the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G-League to further hone his skills. He made his NBA debut in October 2019 and gradually increased his role within the Warriors roster, hitting a career-high 38 points in May 2021. The 2021–22 NBA season marked a significant turning point in his career, as he secured a starting role and became an integral part of the Warriors’ rotation. He led the NBA in free throw percentage that season and played a crucial role in the Warriors winning the NBA championship in 2022.

Following his championship season, Poole signed a four-year contract extension with the Warriors. In July 2023, he was traded to the Washington Wizards, where he continued to be a significant offensive contributor, achieving a career-high 45 points in February 2025 and setting a franchise record for three-pointers made in a season. In July 2025, Poole was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in a three-team deal, where he is currently a guard, contributing to the team’s offense and playmaking.
