Jordyn Pamela Huitema, born on May 8, 2001, in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, began her soccer journey at the age of four with Chilliwack FC. She quickly rose through the youth ranks, making her debut for the Canadian national under-15 team in 2014 and scoring the winning penalty in the CONCACAF Girls’ Under-15 Championship. Huitema continued to develop her skills, representing Canada at various youth levels, including the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2016 and 2018. Her early career was marked by significant achievements, such as becoming the first Canadian to score for the U-17, U-20, and senior national teams in the same calendar year (2017).
In 2019, Huitema signed her first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain after foregoing college opportunities at Stanford and UCLA. During her time with PSG, she contributed to the club’s historic Division 1 Féminine title win in the 2020–21 season, their first league title. She also became the top Canadian scorer in the UEFA Women’s Champions League before turning 20. A pivotal moment in her career came with the Canadian national team, where she was a key member of the squad that secured Canada’s first Olympic gold medal in women’s soccer at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Her performance in the 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship, where she led the tournament in scoring with seven goals, including five against Jamaica, was instrumental in Canada’s qualification.
In 2022, Huitema moved to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Seattle Reign FC, signing a two-year contract. She quickly made an impact, scoring her first goal for the team in The Women’s Cup final in 2022, which proved to be the game-winning goal. In the same year, she helped Seattle Reign FC clinch the NWSL Shield, scoring a crucial goal in the season-ending match. Her dedication and progression were further recognized when she signed a contract extension with Seattle Reign FC until the end of the 2026 season. Throughout her career, Huitema has consistently demonstrated her commitment to excellence and growth as a professional athlete.
