Kevin Faulk

Kevin Troy Faulk was born on June 5, 1976, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He attended Carencro High School, where he achieved significant success, including helping his team win the 1992 Class 5A State Championship. During his high school career, Faulk amassed 4,877 rushing yards on 603 carries, along with 7,612 all-purpose yards and 89 touchdowns, earning him All-American Honors from USA Today and Parade.

Faulk continued his football journey at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he became the starting running back as a true freshman in 1995. His collegiate career was marked by numerous achievements, including being voted to the College Football All-America Team in 1996 by the Associated Press. Notably, during a game against the Houston Cougars on September 7, 1996, he rushed for a school record of 246 yards and returned four punts for 106 yards, leading LSU to a one-point victory. He finished his LSU career with 4,557 rushing yards and 6,833 all-purpose yards, setting SEC records. In 1999, Faulk graduated from LSU with a degree in kinesiology.

Drafted by the New England Patriots in the second round (46th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft, Faulk embarked on a 13-season professional career. He became known as the Patriots’ “Swiss Army knife” due to his versatility in various offensive and special teams roles, contributing significantly to the team’s three Super Bowl titles (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX). Throughout his NFL tenure, he accumulated 3,607 rushing yards, 3,701 receiving yards, and 31 total touchdowns. Post-retirement, Faulk transitioned into coaching, serving at Carencro High School, then returning to LSU as Director of Player Development and later as running backs coach, and most recently as a running backs intern for the New York Giants. He was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2016 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2022.
