Josh Jackson

Joshua O’Neal Jackson was born on February 10, 1997, in San Diego, California. His early life involved a move to Detroit, Michigan, to be closer to family. He attended Consortium College Prep School where he demonstrated his basketball talent, leading the school to its first state title in his sophomore year. Later, he transferred to Justin-Siena High School in Napa, California, playing for Prolific Prep. As a highly-rated five-star recruit, he was consistently ranked among the top players in his high school class. In 2016, Jackson was named co-MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game, a significant milestone in his emerging career.

Jackson committed to the University of Kansas on April 11, 2016. During his single season with the Kansas Jayhawks (2016-2017), he was recognized for his all-around play, averaging 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. His performance earned him accolades such as All-Big 12 First Team, Big 12 Freshman of the Year, and Second-team All-American by Sporting News, as well as Third-team All-American by the Associated Press and National Association of Basketball Coaches. Following his successful collegiate year, Jackson declared for the 2017 NBA Draft.

He was drafted fourth overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2017 NBA Draft. In his rookie year (2017-2018), he earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors. His NBA career included stints with the Memphis Grizzlies (2019-2020), where he also played for their NBA G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle, and the Detroit Pistons (2020-2022). With the Pistons, he achieved a career-high average of 13.4 points per game in the 2020-2021 season. He later played for the Sacramento Kings (2022) and the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League (2023). Throughout his five years in the NBA, Jackson averaged 11.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
