Joshua Bassett

Joshua Bassett is an actor and singer who gained recognition for his leading role in ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ and has since expanded his career with a musical debut and various philanthropic efforts. After securing his breakthrough role as Ricky Bowen in the Disney+ series ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,’ which premiered in November 2019, Joshua Bassett quickly established himself as a multifaceted talent. Prior to this, Bassett accumulated episodic television roles including appearances in ‘Lethal Weapon,’ ‘Game Shakers,’ and ‘Dirty John’ between 2017 and 2018, and a significant role as Aidan Peters in the third season of the Disney Channel series ‘Stuck in the Middle’ in early 2018. His performance in ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ garnered critical acclaim, where he performed on five soundtracks for the series, writing and producing four original songs, including ‘Just for a Moment’ and ‘The Perfect Gift.’ His work on the series led to two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and a Children’s and Family Emmy Award for his contributions, specifically for the song ‘Finally Free.’ In 2019, Bassett also took on a guest role as Linus, a recovering teenage drug addict, in ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ Expanding his career into music, he secured a recording contract with Warner Bros.

In 2022, he partnered with American Eagle for their ‘Member’s Always: Future Together’ campaign, which awarded grants to young community leaders. Looking ahead, Bassett is set to appear as Christopher in the upcoming film ‘I Can Only Imagine 2,’ slated for release in 2026, further diversifying his versatile career.
