Juan Karlos Labajo

Juan Karlos Labajo was born on February 5, 2001, in Consolacion, Cebu, Philippines. He gained public recognition at the age of 13, finishing third in the first season of ‘The Voice Kids’ in 2014. This early exposure on national television provided a foundation for his subsequent career in both music and acting. After his breakthrough on ‘The Voice Kids,’ Labajo became part of Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, which further developed his presence in the Philippine entertainment industry. He released his debut album, “JK,” in August 2015, which included 8 songs, one of which was a dedication to his late mother. His entry into the music industry continued with chart-topping songs such as “Buwan.” He has also expanded his musical ventures as the frontman and primary songwriter of his band, Juan Karlos, and has released multiple studio albums as both a solo artist and with his band.

Labajo also established a notable career in acting, appearing in various television series and films. His television roles include supporting characters in ABS-CBN series like ‘Hawak-Kamay’ (2014), ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’ (2015–2016), and ‘A Love to Last’ (2017). He was also a housemate in ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7’ in 2016. In film, he has taken on diverse roles, such as in the indie film ‘Tatlong Bibe’ (2017) and earning a nomination for the Gawad Urian Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in ‘Blue Room’ (2022). He further expanded his acting repertoire by portraying Senator Ninoy Aquino in the musical biopic ‘Ako si Ninoy’ (2023). Most recently, he took on a main role as Gino Acosta in ‘Senior High’ (2023–2024) and ‘High Street’ (2024), demonstrating his ongoing commitment to acting.

Commercially, Labajo engages in brand endorsements and has ventured into entrepreneurship. In 2024, he and Kyle Echarri released “Kasing Kasing,” a Visayan pop ballad, aiming to promote Cebuano music in the mainstream. His first major solo concert, “Juan Karlos LIVE,” is scheduled for November 29 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, signifying a significant career milestone. He continues to perform as a musician and actor, maintaining a visible presence in the Philippine entertainment landscape.
