Julie Benz

Julie Benz was born on May 1, 1972, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her early life was spent in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, where she began ice skating at the age of three. She competed in junior ice dancing and placed 13th in the 1988 U.S. Championships with her partner, David Schilling. After a stress fracture at 14 concluded her skating career, Benz transitioned to acting, beginning in local theater with the play “Street Law” by 1989. Her initial screen roles included a credited part in “Two Evil Eyes” (1990) and a role in the TV show “Hi Honey, I’m Home” (1991). Following high school, she pursued acting studies at New York University.
