Justine Lupe

Justine Lupe-Schomp, born on May 31, 1989, in New York City and raised in Denver, Colorado, developed an early interest in the performing arts. She is a 2007 graduate of the Denver School of the Arts theater program, where a theater is named after her grandmother, Kay Schomp. Lupe continued her education at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, graduating in 2011. Her father, John Lupe, works as an exhibition specialist at the Denver Art Museum, further connecting her to the arts.

Lupe began her professional acting career in 2010, quickly securing roles in both film and television. Her early film credits include ‘Not Fade Away’ (2012) and ‘Frances Ha’ (2013). On television, she appeared in ‘Unforgettable’ (2011), ‘Southland’ (2012), ‘Harry’s Law’ (2012), and ‘Royal Pains’ (2012). A notable early career turning point was her role as Maddie Culpepper in the ABC sitcom ‘Cristela’ (2014–2015). Her career progressed with recurring and main roles, establishing her presence in various series across different genres.

Her career gained significant momentum with roles in acclaimed television series. She played Holly Gibney in ‘Mr. Mercedes’ (2017–2019) and Astrid Weissman in ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ (2017–2023). A defining role in her career is Willa Ferreyra in the HBO drama series ‘Succession’ (2018–2023), where she transitioned from a recurring character to a main cast member for its third and fourth seasons. Lupe has also appeared in films such as ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ (2017) and ‘Luckiest Girl Alive’ (2022). More recently, she starred as Morgan in the Netflix series ‘Nobody Wants This’ (2024) and Alice Wickstead in ‘The Big Door Prize’ (2024). Her work has earned her two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for ‘Succession’ in 2022 and 2024.
